RCID
Would you like to open a door without searching the key in your pocket?
Using a machine, would you like to be identified without further hassle, just by carrying a car-key sized medium?
These and many more opportunities open up with RCID.
What is RCID?
RCID (Resistive Capacitive IDentification) is a technology to transfer information using (quasi-)static electric fields. It has been optimized for identification applications, but can also find other uses. More information can be found under technology.

The medium (transmitter: Tx) has typically the size of a car key. The electrodes of the receiver (Rx) can have various forms, handles, buttons, surfaces, even doormats and transparent electrodes are possible.
Where is RCID Used?
RCID is used where an intuitive, comfortable identification is desired. By using a guided communication between media and receiver interesting user scenarios can be implemented, those applications have been realized.
How can I use RCID?
For experiments, an evaluation kit is available. For the use in products, several licensesexist according to the desired degree of integration.
